Fiano from the Lacey block, three kilometres due East of the printine Maslin Beach coastline. Picked in the cool of first light, fermented naturally in ceramic egg. No additions to speak of, until a small amount of sulphur at the end to help it into bottle. Our little ode to one of the Vale’s rising star white varieties. 275 dozen bottles made.

(2017 VINTAGE) "A bright, acid driven year. From Ben Lacey’s McLaren Vale vineyard (think Lino Ramble, Coriole, Cradle of Hills etc). Spends its time fermenting in a ceramic egg, with a portion in barrel on skins for its ferment. Bondar’s first crack at fiano. About 70 dozen produced. 

Pear and quince, Paris almonds, faint pepper notes. Quite the pretty perfume. Click of acidity, fresh fruit feel, lick of chalkiness/faint pumice-like texture. Lovely dry, bony finish. This has zing and perkiness on its side. So mouthwatering and pure-feeling. Totally delicious." - 92 points, Mike Bennie, The Wine Front
